Our app Yomu offers an optional "Eye Blink Navigation" feature that uses Apple's TrueDepth camera and ARKit to detect eye blinks for hands-free page turning while reading. This feature is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled by the user in Settings.
When this feature is enabled, the app accesses only two numerical eye blink coefficients (eyeBlinkLeft and eyeBlinkRight) from ARKit face tracking. These values indicate how closed each eye is on a scale of 0.0 to 1.0 and are used solely to detect blink gestures for page navigation.
This data is processed entirely on your device in real-time. It is never stored, recorded, logged, transmitted over the network, or shared with any third party. No facial geometry, depth maps, images, facial feature data, or biometric identifiers are collected at any time. The face tracking session is active only while the feature is in use within the reader screen and stops immediately when you leave the reader or disable the feature. All data is discarded from memory when the session ends.
We do not use face data for user identification, authentication, advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than detecting blink gestures for page navigation.
Our app offers an optional iCloud Sync feature that synchronizes your library, reading progress, and app settings across your devices using Apple's iCloud service. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us or any third party. iCloud Sync is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled by the user in Settings. You can disable it at any time.
If you subscribe to Yomu Premium, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID. We use a third-party service (Adapty) to verify subscription status. Adapty receives only anonymized subscription status data and does not receive any personally identifying information.
Our website and apps may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.
You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.
